13 Simple Morning Rituals To Feed Your Ambitious Mind and Body

Mornings can be busy for everyone. For many getting out the door on time is something that takes careful preparation. On the other hand, yall may be working or going to school remotely. It's not any less stressful than commuting, especially when everyone is concerned about health and finances.

What you do each morning can set the tone for what happens until you go back to bed. Consider including a few routines designed to help you thrive. Here are 13 simple morning rituals that feed your ambitious mind and body.

THE MIND

1. Avoid technology.

I know some of you will not like this because I'm not a fan, But we have all been there 15 minutes of scrolling can turn to an hour. Thankfully this list is full of routines that can quickly distract you from your device.

2.Be prepared.

Prepping the next days' tasks the night before can make your mornings more pleasant. Lay out your clothes. Yes, I am suggesting you lay them out as you did in grade school. Planning an outfit in our head is not the same—true story: you may remember all too late that you haven't done the laundry.

3. Tend to your spirituality

Nurturing a spiritual relationship with oneself is essential. If you're a novice, a few minutes of spiritual study and or meditation a day will do. You can build up your time gradually.

4. Affirm yourself

Repeat loving and motivational messages to yourself. Speak in the short statements that apply to the present only. Making eye contact with yourself can help you focus on tapping into your full power of manifestation. If you happen to oppose #1 entirely, I post affirmations to my social media daily. You can get your boost there.

5.Connect with the ones you love

Enjoy family and friend time. Play a guessing game with your kids. Flirt with your partner. Coordinate a moring ki-ki with your friends. With small acts like these, we can connect with those we care for. Add a little love to everyone's morning.

6.Cultivate gratitude.

Count your blessings. Think of someone you need to

thank today. Give them a call, send an email, text, or @ them for the world to see.

7.Have a project.

Is it challenging to slow down and cater to your wants? The early morning hours provide just enough tranquility to engage your ambitions.

8. Listen to music.

Every day I start my day with music. And it is not because research shows that listening to music reduces anxiety and enhances mental alertness and memory. It's because it makes me feel good. Put together a personal playlist or turning on your favorite radio station will put some positive vibes in your morning.

THE BODY

1. Cancel the snooze button.

Are you tired even after 8 hours of sleep? The trouble could be your snooze button. It interrupts your body's natural waking process causing sleep inertia that can last for hours.

2. Drink water.

If you are a coffee drinker like me, you may want to hold off on your first cup of the day. Get yourself a glass of cool water. It will hydrate your organs and awaken you from the inside out.

3. Eat breakfast.

Whether you had a good night's rest or not, you need to refuel. Make it easy, quick, and nutritious. For example, fruits are great on the go, and a fruit salad is easy to prep the night before.

4. Get busy

In words to the best late-night talk show host in history - Get busy! Means to get involved. Participate. Contribute. And this, my peeps, will take movement. Doing something you love, used to love, or are interested in will keep you motivated to stick to it.

5. Go outdoors.

Let the morning rays energize your ambitious spirit. Did you know it wakes up your body and starts a hormone cycle that prepares you for a restful sleep at night? Sitting on your porch or even leaning out of your window for a few moments each morning can change the vibe of the day.

Imagine working on your passion project while enjoying a cool glass of prepped fruit water in your back yard or front stoop with the glow of the sunrise on your skin. These morning routines are so simple it would be easy for moments to come together like this. Begin small and have fun experimenting.
